My Opinion About FemdomAcademy:
Femdom Academy sound like an intriguing site and mainly because I've always been curious how young girls get initiated into the life of a Mistress. On the tour, they do look youthful, but inside the site they tend to appear a bit older. Yet, despite the name and what it implies, at least to me, this is no site documenting the initiations of apprentices into the exclusive femdom club. Instead, it's about teaching mostly male submissives their place in the hierarchy at the academy.
This is not a huge site, but it is part of the FetishNetwork and you get instant access to another 38 fetish, spanking, femdom, smothering, smoking and BDSM sites. It's not a bad deal considering everything. Still, there are only 26 episodes on FemdomAcademy, which won't last most individuals a month let alone longer.
When it comes to updates, the site is really a little odd. It looks like Femdom Academy started out strong in 2010 and updating throughout the summer months. However, after a couple of early fall updates, the site went on hiatus and returned, again with regular updates, in January 2011. Now, just to be fair, there have been three to five episodes added every month since that time, and there is the promise of at least one upcoming episode, but who truly knows how long this schedule will last.
Content is relatively amateur in nature, but this goes for much of the network. Movies come off as homemade, or at least it always appears like regular individuals playing out their femdom fantasies. I can see a certain appeal in this because I know that some people really don't like those unrealistic and glam femdoms often depicted. This is definitely a more genuine than produced experience and enjoying the content will depend solely on your personal taste. There is a rating system and it looks like members' give the movies an average 2 out of 5 for many movies. It's not exactly promising.
There are video screencap sets with each of the episodes or at least that's what the link indicates. When I start viewing the sets they do appear to be better than captures with nice sharp images, albeit with very amateur lighting, framing and angles. These are small 600x400 snapshots easily viewed online in a timed slideshow, but there aren't Zip downloads. There are around 40 images in each set.
Movies are offered in low and high-resolution Flash streams and MP4 (1660kbps, 960x540) downloads. Files are between 400 and 600MB and the length of each episode is roughly 40 minutes. The movies come in full-length, but they are really quite slow in coming. The sound is excellent, but the visual quality is lacking a bit. However, there is an element of teaching at this Femdom Academy. The scenes appear to be improvised to a certain extent, although I'm sure the femdoms come in well prepared to give us a personal lesson of their form of domination. The mistresses talk to the camera as they give commands and obedience classes and viewers are invited to participate from a POV angle, which is a nice way to do a site like this considering its theme. Eventually, the camera steps back so that we can see all the punishment the domineering bitches dole out on their pathetic subs and in this way there is a good blend of action within the 40 or so minutes of every episode.
Final Verdict:
Femdom Academy is one of those sites that you could see having a lot of promise. The problem is that the producers really drop the ball theme-wise and don't take things quite far enough into the kink zone in my opinion. I think the home shot feel of the content might appeal to some individuals, but the fact is that the amount of content hardly justifies the fee, especially when you note that the site has in the past gone for long periods without adding new content.
